If you’re looking to upgrade from XP or Vista on your netbook, or perhaps you already have, then here’s some great news for you. Some netbook makers have already updated the driver download pages to include Windows 7 drivers which should work better than Vista drivers you may be using instead. Most Asus netbooks now have drivers for Windows 7 from their support page.

Other companies have updated their support pages but, not all companies support many netbook models. There is support from Toshiba for the NB205, while Acer are providing Windows 7 drivers for the Aspire One 751 and AOP531h with AOD250 to follow. Dell are listing drivers for the Mini 10v and Mini 10 but not the Inspiron Mini 9 or 12. HP on the other hand have support for discontinued netbooks, such as the HP Mini 2140. They’ve also got support for the 110, 5101 and other models. Lenovo have also updated their support page to include manuals but, no drivers yet. This could change soon though.

Those who are still doubting the capability of netbooks in handling the graphics demands of online games might want to think again. JKOntheRun was able to install, run and play with the MMORPG Dungeons and Dragons using his Toshiba N205.

Now for those who may not be aware of how loaded the Toshiba N205 netbook is, you’ll be surprise that aside from the Intel Atom N280 processor, you can also pack in a 2GB of RAM into this machine to make it capable of handling some graphics requirements.

Anyway, the full installation of the free version of D&D requires around 2.8GB of space, so that pretty much can be contained by the Toshiba N205’s 160GB HDD.

Overall, the Toshiba N205 handled the game pretty well. Although hard core gamers will most likely not like it. But if you are a casual gamer who wants to do something different with your netbook, you might want to try the game.

I might try this one on my Eee PC 1000HE and see hot it fares.

Toshiba will also release the Dynabook MX/33 the same day for $1000. Most specs remain the same but, the screen size is reduced to 11.6 inches along with the battery life being reduced to 9.5 hours. It will also feature a weaker CPU, a Celeron 743 (1.30GHz). No word on whether these netbooks will also be released elsewhere.

Toshiba are to launch two new Satellite models. Both models fit more into the CULV category rather than netbook but, the T115 just makes it’s mark in the netbook world with an 11.6 inch display. Non netbook specs however, include up to 4GB of RAM, 500GB HDD along with an Intel Pentium or Celeron CPU. The T115 will launch in the US for $449. It will also launch in the UK for £429 but as the T110.

Moving onto the other model, it’s out of netbook range but, still provides more portability than a standard laptop with a 13.3 inch display. The 13 inch CULV will launch as the T135 in the US for $599. It’ll also be available in the UK as the T130. Like the T115, the T135 will come with either an Intel Pentium CPU or Celeron. Only a 250GB HDD will be included in this model, along with support for up to 3GB RAM.

Both Satellite models will be available from the 22nd of October both in the US and UK.

Laptopmag is running a detailed review Toshiba’s first netbook entry to the U.S. market – the NB205. And if you are to judge the netbook by their review, it seems that Toshiba might have done it right for the netbook market.

Of utmost important is the fact that the Toshiba NB205 yielded 8 hours and 33 minutes of battery life. That’s by far the longest running time for a netbook that we’ve known so far.

Other notable features of the NB205 is its great keyboard and a normal sized trackpad. Plus of course you’d also get the usual netbook fare such as Intel Atom CPU, 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM, Windows XP, WiFi.

Check out Laptopmag’s full review of the Toshiba NB205 here.

Realizing that the competition have gone ahead when it comes to making their netbooks boast of longer battery life, Toshiba did not want to be outdone and so boost their own UX Netbook with 10H usage time.

Yes folks, 10 long hours of continous usage for the Toshiba UX Netbook, or the Dynabook or the more popularly known Toshiba NB200.

Aside from the extended battery life, the Toshiba UX Netbook also features the usual N280 CPU, 10.1-inch LED backlight LCD, 1GB of RAM, 160GB of HDD.

Keep in mind that althought his may be a good deal, the only letdown that you can possibly find in the Toshiba UX netbook is its price which could reach up to $611.

Look what’s heading to the U.S. netbook market pretty soon? It’s Toshiba’s latest netbook baby – the NB205. For those looking for an alternative to Asus and Acer netbook’s Toshiba is giving you two options for the form-factor of the Toshiba NB205. Either you choose an NB205 with flat-keyboard in black form factor or one with raised keys and bright color designs.

But what makes this Toshiba netbook stand out from the rest of the netbook pack is not only its two form-factors but its sleep-and-charge USB port. This would practically allow you to charge your USB devices attached to the netbook even if its turned off. And to make this even more useful, Toshiba is packing the NB 205 with a 6-cell battery pack.

Other specs and features of the Toshiba NB205 are pretty standard though. These include Intel N280 CPU, 1GB RAM which can be expanded up to 2GB, 160GB HDD, Windows XP, 10.1-inch TruBrite LED-backlit display, WiFi, and memory card slot. To protect its hard drive, the NB205 comes equipped with a built-in impact sensor.

The Toshiba NB205 will retail for $350 for the black model with full flat keyboard and $400 for the model in metallic finish with four different color variants – Brown, White, Pink and Blue.
