This new device joins the list of Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablets by the same company, alongside earlier models such as the Asus TF101 and Asus TF201.

Another model that has been recently announced is the TF700, which will likely be released in June this year. This tablet was previewed in Consumer Electronics Show 2012 with a 1920 × 1200 HD pixel display resolution touch screen, and a $600 (32 GB) to $700 (64 GB) price tag. As per usual, it will have the speedy NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core central processing unit.

Another budget-friendly slate is also in the process of getting ready for its launch during the second quarter of this year. It was spotted in China as some reports implied.

Scant information, however, is available for the new TF300T. Judging from the pictures posted, this device comes with a textured back panel in a rust shade, and has a webcam. Some are speculating that it might run on Windows 8 instead of Android, on which the other models are running.

With this new gagdet, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab and Motorola’s Xoom will perhaps face some competition.

IdolPad is a 7 incher and has a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 single core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and runs Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It has a low resolution 800 x 480 pixel display. It has a resistive touchscreen instead of a capacitive screen, which means you’ll either need to press the screen harder with your fingertip or use a fingernail or stylus.

IdolPad is said to have between 4 and 6 hours of battery life and can handle 1080p HD video output. The device has a microSDHC card slot for extra storage. There’s also an HDMI port. The tablet measures 7.8″ x 4.9″ x 0.6″ and weighs about 0.8 pounds.

Unlike other budget tablets, IdolPad has a camera although Idolian states its website that the resolution is pretty grainy, not high definition picture quality.

ASUS restructures its naming to its netbook range apparently with the appearance of ASUS Eee PC R051BX. There are no official statement from ASUS yet whether the seashell line up is gone or there is a new model line with a new chassis design.

What we know is that the ASUS Eee PC R051BX comes with 1.0GHz, AMD C-60 CPU, a gig of DDR3 RAM and 320 GB Hard Drive. There will be configurations that may come up later. Connectivity wise, there will be HDMI since the C-60 is capable of 1080p output. The 10.1 inch netbook also has 2 USB 2.o, VGA, SD card reader and Ethernet ports.

Looking at the unit’s specs, this looks like a stripped down 1015BX since it only has 2 USB ports and no USB 3.0. It only has 3-cell battery rated at 2200mAH that will give 4-5 hour battery life, but in real world application it should be around 2-3 hours of autonomy.

The price of this device is about € 250 MSRP, very inviting since it has Radeon 6290 that offers DirectX 11 support.

The brief answer didn’t provide a schedule for the rollout, although Wi-Fi only releases should let most owners upgrade within days. The update would bring new interface, improved speed, however it won’t be as dramatic an improvement like on phones. The Transformer Prime, despite being released months later, had updates last week. The upgrades feature largely the same updates although the quad-core processor should some benefits as the software is optimized to run on four cores.

According to some analysts, the new microprocessor does not offer such a great leap from the previous one. Users, however, will still benefit with the changes that Intel Atom has introduced.

One improvement, for instance, is in the graphics processor. Formerly, Intel Atom N2600 and N2800 were able to handle as crisp images with 1080p High Definition video playback. Now, however, the Cedar Trail microprocessor will have an even better HDMI output, which is able to transmit uncompressed data. Another improvement is that these new chips will have WiDi, or Intel’s new wireless display functionality.

The new Cedar Trail microprocessor is now available on many inexpensive netbooks, notebooks, and nettops, including those from Acer, MSI, Lenovo, and Toshiba. Said laptops give premium to higher battery life, and are thus highly compatible with the energy-saving, not to mention cost-effective, chips from Intel.

Among those with the microprocessor already for pre-order selling are the $285 Acer Aspire One AOD270, the $269 Asus Eee PC X101CH, and the $299 Asus Eee PC 1025C.

Intel is optimistic that their product will help improve sales, notwithstanding the decline for the demand of laptop computers in the two previous years.

After being officially unveiled at the CES 2012 fair last week, Asus’ Eee PC X101CH and Eee PC 1025C notebooks are now available for pre-order in the US.

For only $269, you can get the Eee PC X101CH, powered by an Intel Atom N2600 dual-core processor clocked at 1.66GHz, with 1GB of system memory and a 320GB hard drive. The X101CH comes with 802.11n Wi-Fi, low-res webcam and a 3-cell battery that can doperate for up to 4 hours.

Meanwhile, the Eee PC 1025C that costs $299 also boasts the same Intel Atom N2600 processors as well as 320GB hard drive. However, this machine includes a 6-cell battery, which Asus claims to deliver up to 4 hours of autonomy.

Both systems sport a 10.1-inch LED-backlit display with a native resolution of 1024×600. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 3.0 as well as an HDMI output. They also support for the WiFi Direct technology that allows users to share date between devices without the need of a wireless access point. However, the real star is the Intel N2600 processor, which is designed to bring enhanced multimedia capabilities.

There’s no word on when the two netbooks will be shipped to the US. So customers may have to wait a bit longer before they could get their hands on one of these awesome machines.

ASUS Transformer Prime owners may already be enjoying their Ice Cream Sandwich, but what about its predecessor? There has been rumors that sometime in February, an inevitable upgrade would rise from the ashes, but again, there’s still a slight possibility that the update will soon come over.

On North American Facebook page, ASUS responded to a user, mentioning Google’s official stamp of approval is currently in the works. Once this is complete, ASUS will send everyone who has the original Transformer tablet an Ice Cream Sandwich.

M930 has a 13.3-inch screen with 1280 x 800 resolution. For internal storage, M930 has an Intel Core i5 Sandy Bridge processor with 4 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD. There are 2 USB 2.0 ports, a full-sized Ethernet and HDMI out ports, and a full SD slot for connectivity. Toshiba Portégé M930 runs Windows 7.

Strangely, the mouse buttons and track “nub” are on the right edge of the keyboard instead of the typical area below the keyboard. Since M930 is a convertible tablet, it is supposed to have a touchscreen. However, for some reason when Nicole from Netbooknews did the hands-on video, it was not responding to her taps and swipes. The M930 may have an active digitizer instead because it appears like there is a stylus stored in a silo at the back of the device, but this is yet to be verified.

Generally, the form factor for the Toshiba Portégé is quite interesting although it’s quite heavy. Check out the source link for the hands-on video of the device.
