We’ve been getting several comments on a recent post where we said that Google Chrome OS won’t be able to run on Eee PCs and netbooks. While this might seem not true especially since many developers and brave souls have already downloaded the open-source developer code for Chrome OS and made it run on some Eee PCs, our statement was actually referring to the consumer version of the Chrome OS. We were referring to the official consumer version of the Chrome OS which will not be available until the later part of next year.

That settled, if you want to experience how Google Chrome OS will behave on your netbook you might want to download the Google Chrome OS image from this site or this site. And check out the instruction on how you can install and run it on virtual machine.

And here’s a video demonstrating the booting process of Google Chrome OS on an Eee PC 701.

The Eee PC 1101HA-WP’s battery life suffered a bit, down from 11 hours to 8 hours now.

As for the other features, it practically is the same netbook as the Eee PC 1101HA.

The Eee PC 1101HA-WP will be available in Japan on the 14th and will set you back for around $410. It will don either a black or white casing.

So, have you pre-ordered your Eee PC T91MT at Amazon? Whether you did or not, you might want to check out this short demo of the Eee PC T91MT’s multi-touch functionality. As you can see from the video, that multi-touch feature is definitely a winner. Nothing can be cooler than the ability to control the different apps loaded in the Eee PT T91MT using one or two fingers.

I’m drooling right now, and hoping that this table netbook will be made available in the country where I am at a very affordable price. But I’m not counting on it, given the taxes that our government will imposed once it reached our soil.

Anyway, enjoy the video and if you haven’t ordered your Eee PC T91MT yet, this might help you decide.

Come January of next year at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Asus is expected to showcase a whole slew of exciting new devices along with a few old (already known) ones that also incite interest as excellent choices for mobile computing. Among those to be showcased are the company’s 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor powered netbooks, smartbooks and ultra-thin devices like their forthcoming Eee Reader and a few Google Android-based smartphones. Asus is also preparing 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470 netbooks but these aren’t going to be presented until CeBIT during another place and time. Still, we hope to learn more about all of these when we come to CES next year to cover the event live. Watch for it.

Well, it didn’t take Asus that long to make the new Eee PC 1001HA available for pre-order at the Amazon UK site. We were just telling you that this netbook’s specs have been spotted on the Asus global site.

The Eee PC 1001HA is available for $328. These include – 10.1-inch display (1024×600), 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB of HDD, 3-cell battery, 0.3 webcam, 3 USB ports and Windows XP (sorry folks no Windows 7 in this one).

Design wise, the Eee PC 1001HA looks like it’s sporting a textured lid design. It will be available in black and white color.

Now here’s the clincher and could determine whether you would want to get this netbook now – it will ship within 3 months upon order. Now that’s too long to wait.
