For $50 more you get the same specifications, but with Windows Vista Home Basic. For you $749 you get upgraded to 1.6GHz CPU, memory is 2GB, a 120GB hard drive’s with 7,200rpm and Windows Vista Business. The top configuration also adds Bluetooth and comes with a six-cell extended battery. It is the $749-model Computer Shopper have reviewed. HP has officially announced its entry into the mini-notebook PC market with the release of the Mini-Notebook PC (I must say, the name doesn’t seem pretty creative at all, eh?). To debut later this month for $499, the HP Mini-Note PC is geared for the education market - teachers and students users. The HP Mini-Note PC boasts of an 8.9″ WXGA display, Wi-Fi, optional webcam, and Qwerty keyboard. Unfortunately, the official announcement from the HP website, doesn’t say too much about the technical details of the HP Mini-Note PC. Engadget appears to have gotten their hands on the specs for the new HP UMPC 2133. It’s coming powered with a VIA CM-7 Processor, either 1.2 or 1.6 GHz, a 8.9″ screen, 120 or 160 GB hard drive, and either 1024 or 2048 667 MHz DDR2. The price of the 2133 will range from $549 to $849 (depending on the model), with the $549 version coming equipped with the SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 (nice choice!) and the other models with Microsoft Windows Vista. The more expensive models will even have Bluetooth capability. It looks like HP has designed an UMPC that will offer some stiff competition for the upcoming 9″ Eee PC. |
