The good news is that the upgrade will only cost you $25.

Unfortunately, this deal is applicable only for the regular-priced HP Mini 5102 which is tagged at around $518 price point. So if you add the $25, you'll end up buying an HP Mini 5102 netbook with such powerful processor for $543.

Compare that to buying the HP Mini 5102 via HP's "Smart Buy" option wherein you only need to pay around $399 with specs such as 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU, 10.1-inch display, Windows 7 Starter Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4-cell batter and 160GB of HDD.

But then, the HP Mini 5102 with Intel Atom N470 processor also boasts of Broadcomm HD card, 1366x768 matte multitouch display and SSD.

You may check out the deal <a

How about getting a similar netbook, albeit one that looks almost exactly if not better than the origina? Well, we got to give credit to our friends in China for coming with an HP Mini 5101/5102 clone.

What's good about their copy is that it improves on the current specs and features of the original HP Mini 5101. So, instead of getting a 10.1-inch display, you'll get an 11.6-inch screen (1366x768). In addition, this netbook's chicklet keyboard are far better than the original HP Mini 5101 with bigger chicklet square keys, that makes up for a more comfortable typing experience.

On it's side is an unusual port that will apparently boost your netbook's 3G signal. We rarely see this kind of port in a netbook before.

Underneath this netbook is a clean surface without screws or whatsoever. So, you won't find it easy to screw out the cover to examine its innards.

Best of all, this netbook even copied the HP logo perfectly. Although I'm pretty sure the HP folks would not like this one.

Anyway, this HP Mini 5101/5102 clone sports similar specs such as Intel Atom N450, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, Wi-Fi and 3-cell battery. Price tag is at around $337. It comes in red design.

Via <a

One example is the HP slate. The basic model of the slate, will rival the $629 model of the iPad specs wise but should come at a lower cost. Within the next few weeks, executives will be meeting in Taiwan and the US to decide on pricing and definite features. One thing we do know about the HP slate, is that it will run Windows 7 and it;s very likely to use one of the Intel Atom CPU's. Once more information is made available, we'll let you know on pricing and other features of the HP tablet.

<a

The HP Mini 110 on Verizon is no different. While the upfront cost is only $30, you're then tied into a 24 month contract. The contract runs at $60 a month, making the netbook $1470 over the course of the 2 years, including the one off fee. Of course, if having a 3G netbook is something that appeals to you and you'd make use of it, then perhaps it isn't such a bad deal but, for most the deal doesn't work out so great.

<a
