The Eee Box EB1501 is loaded with a slim, slot feed DVD burner, NVIDIA Ion graphics, dual core Intel Atom 330 CPU and supports HD display capability. It also features a 2GB of RAM, 250GB of HDD, Windows 7 Premium, 6 USB ports, multicard reader, HDMI and VGA output, Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet.

The Eee Box is capable displaying HD video at a low processor usage of only around 14%. That will give you pretty much several hours to complete two movies on one run I guess.

Another interesting feature of the Eee Box EB1501 is that it comes with a desk stand and VESA bracket that will allow users to mount the nettop at the back of their HDTVs or LCD Monitors.

So the fan inside would have been a great solution but the problem is users found out that it doesn’t seem to shut off especially when it is not reall needed.

The solution? Blogee.net discovered that Asus has made available a BIOS update which you can download here.

Expect for another onslaught of new netbook releases either t before the year ends or early next year. For sure, once Intel releases its new processor that will replaced the Atom CPU that we find in most netbooks nowadays, netbook manufacturers will be rushing to beat each other in coming up first with a Pineview netbooks/nettops.

Intel confirmed this during the IDF earlier this week. And even gave some information about what to expect from the Pineview CPU once it gets into the insides of our beloved netbooks and nettops.

Pineview would make netbooks and nettops’ CPU smaller and would allo w manufacturers to come up with thinner netbooks. Power consumption will also improved hence longer battery life.

Aside from these, communication between the processor and memory will also be faster, so future netbooks will be much much faster than current netbook models. Multimedia capabilities will also be enhanced so expect manufacturers to explore and on this. Perhaps make their netbooks HD capable.

But most important of all Pineview CPU will cost less than Atom so we might be seeing cheaper and yet powerful netbooks in the future.

What’s happening with Asustek? It seems that the company is getting a bit disorganized when it comes to announcing their new products. After the mysterious Eee PC 1201N showed up in some Chinese product page, here it goes again with another unofficially announced Eee PC – the 1001HA.

From the looks of it, this Eee PC surely belongs to the Seashell family. It boasts of the usual Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 160GB of HDD and Windows XP Home OS. What’ peculiar about this Eee PC is the fact that it has a “wavy” texture finish and a chasis similar to that of the Eee PC 1005HA.

Price tag as listed in some stores in Europe is something around 250 to 300 euros. The Eee PC 1001HA will be available sometime next week in those European stores.
