Chinese Company 4FFF Releases The N618 E-book Reader

E-book readers are usually small devices, but I doubt there’s any reader smaller than 4FFF’s N618. The Chinese company’s product measures in at just under six inches. That’s quite an achievement, but it makes you question whether the N618 would be a good reading experience. Worry not – the N618 features the use of Sipix electronic paper, which has over 16 contrasting gray levels. 4FFF claims that it is more responsive and easier to read than the ordinary E-ink screen used by e-book readers.

Other than that the N618 has a 400MHz Samsung 2416 ARM9 processor running the show, with a Linux-based custom OS to operate it. It has 128MB RAM, 2 gigs of flash storage, Wi-Fi  and a 4000mAh battery. The product supports several popular text formats, namely, PDF, EPUB, RTF and HTML. It even has Internet browsing and music playing capability.

The N618 can be ordered from the company’s website for 337 dollars.
