Chrome netbooks will have a higher tag price than Windows counterparts?
Google seems to have very, very high hopes for their upcoming GoogleBook netbooks. The company’s flagship portable computer will use high resolution displays, as well as some sort of SSD drive and integrated 3G. Further reports say that the netbook will possibly sport a high-end GPU, accelerometers and other sensors. I’m guessing they’re going with the ‘everything on it’ strategy.
The operating system itself is free so maybe the search engine firm is trying to max out the capabilities of the OS to show it off, but analysts are afraid this might drive up the price. These devices might even cost more than Windows netbooks themselves.
Google Chrome has shown that it works on lower-end devices though and a fair number of you out there don’t want whiz-bang parts in a device that will likely see use only when you’re mobile.
