That's pretty lame. I needed a notebook to carry to and from school, but found that the 15 inch notebooks were just too large and cumbersome, but the horsepower offered by the 10'' books invariably did not offer enough horsepower. I did have slight difficulty finding a match, but I found an 11.6inch Gateway one with an Athlon 64X2 dual core processor and 2GB ram, and that suited my needs pretty well. It'll be a shame if students in the future cannot find this kind of flexibility in the future, due to silly constraints.

It's not due to a lack of consumer demand, it's due to the artifical constraints put on the netbook market by Intel. Intel only allows the netbook makers to use 10.1" or smaller displays on Atom powered netbooks, otherwise they loose access to the best pricing for the Atom chips.
