For those wanting to have the 3G connectivity on their newly bought HP Mini 1000, here’s an easy way to do it.

According to Electric Vagabond, all you need to do is tear apart your HP Mini 1000 and look for a sim slot udner the battery. This slot was never publicized by HP but Laptop Mag found the sim splot when they tear an HP Mini apart.

But before inserting a SIM to the slot, make sure that you have downloaded a WWAN driver which can be found here.  Then go on and slot your SIM card, and that’s it. You should now be able to connect to the internet wireless using your HP Mini 1000 via 3G network.

So, if you have the HP Mini 1000 and is brave enough to take a look under to find the SIM slot, why not try this mod out? And tell us how it goes by leaving a comment below. Good luck!

  1. The only problem here is that you would need a pure 3G card. In other words, one not affiliated with the iPhone or a similar device that closely tracks bandwidth usage. That said, you probably can’t go too crazy with your 3G card even if it isn’t from an iPhone, as carriers monitor their network use very closely. For more info on netbooks visit NetbookStation.com.
