Eee PC Tops Computer Reliability Rankings

As if our previous coverage on students preference over the Eee PC for their next laptop purchase was not enough, here comes another report highlighting how reliable the Eee PC is when it comes to frequency of being brought to shops for repair.

According to a study by RESCUECOM, a computer repair hotline, Asus Eee PC scored 416 in their tests, followed by Apple, IBM/Lenovo, Toshiba and HP/Compaq.  The report was based on the percentage of computers each company shipped to the number of calls the RESCUECOM repair hotline received.  While computer reliability pertains to the quality of the components and software used during the manufacture of the computers together with the post-sale support given by the manufacturers to their customers.

Scores of the other manufacturers are as follows – Apple (394), IBM/LENOVO (314), Toshiba (218), and HP/Compaq (142)

    Interesting.

    Times are a changing.

I like XP but it can be tough to fix sometimes. (But it is still easier for me to understand than NT!)

    Thanks for posting.

A PC breaks, indeed, but after a few years and the good part is that it is easier to repair than a laptop. If that crashes, it's harder to do something, plus it goes down faster than a computer, because it's very sensitive. My opinion is that if you want to keep your computer working for a longer time, you have to get a PC Health Advisor.
