EEE PC will get HDD & Atom CPU

In this nice interview we get answers to some important questions. Here is the most important information, read the whole interview at the link above.

  • EEE PC 900 (the 8.9 inch model) Will come in april and the 8GB version will have Windows XP. A 12GB or 20GB SSD model will be available with Xandros.
  • Asus is considering to offer Hard drives as an option in the future!
  • In May or June, Asus will release different versions of the Eee PC (different colors/styles/etc).
  • Regarding price on EEE PC 900 it will intially be around $499 in the United States.
  • It is confirmed that new EEEs will use Intel’s 45nm ‘Diamondville’ processor (Atom).

    I think they should choose a better processor for it to become more competitive. Making it upgradeable to windows Vista is another advantage. Although it might take some time before Vista will become more stable. Making it compatible to different OS is the best option for it.
