EFI firmware update for Apple’s 2010 Macs: provides Lion internet recovery

EFI firmware update

Can you recall your dusty two-year-old MacBook you store in one of those high shelves (you didn’t even want to allow your children to touch) just gathering dust there? Well, at least good news is coming from Apple; the company has decided to give a facelift on those 2010 models. The new EFI firmware update should work on MacBook Pro (early 2010) iMac (mid 2010) and MacBook Air (late 2010) models. The firmware adds support for Lion’s internet-based recovery mode –very useful for those optical drives-less Mac minis and MacBook Airs. The update allegedly should fix bugs on Air models, actually resetting if the power key was pressed instantly following booting from high sleep mode. If you’re craving for the new firmware — it’s already out there now.
