Enabling HD on Ubuntu Linux for GMA500 Netbooks

While we’re all awash with news about Intel’s new processors, let’s not forget that the previous model netbooks are still available and are still alive and kicking. In particular, those netbooks like the MSI WInd U110 that run have GMA 500 graphics will still do an excellent job for playing HD video. For those that have Windows machines, there’s no problem in taking advantage of this.

But for our more daring Linux brethren, they have been left in the cold in this respect, until now. Linux Tipps has the low-down on how to use a Video Acceleration API to get your penguin OS up to speed to enjoy HD. This tip was done in Ubuntu Linux but I’m sure it can be pulled off on other variants of the OS.

Hit the link below to get more info, though be warned that this does need a bit of know how to pull off.
