So, you just got a new Eee PC 1000 series model (there’s plenty of them really – 1000HE, 1000H, 1002HA, etc) and after pumping up the volume while watching your favority Pussycat Doll MTV, you suddenly felt that you could use a little more volume enhancement but could not do so. Well, you’re in luck as our friends over at eee.it has posted this tip on how to enhance your Eee PC’s sound quality, particularly increasing its volume by up to 6decibels higher allowing it to provide a virtual 5.1 surround sound quality.

To enhance the sound quality of your Eee PC 1000’s you simply need to download and install the “SRS Premium Sound” software. This is the same software used by Asus on its recently released 1008HA Seashell netbooks.

To get you started  check out the detailed procedures at the EeeUser Forum.

Be cautious though as some initia reactions to the effect of the software installation are not all that positive.  But if you try it out on your Eee PC, please tell us how you find the new sound of your Eee PC.  I might try it out when I got the time.

  1. I saw the SRS Premium Sound fix at eeeuser.com and installed it on my 1000H. I am very pleased with the result. The sound is fuller and louder, in a good way.
