Eurocom Unveils Panther 4.0 Notebook with Sandy Bridge-E CPU and Nvidia’s GTX 580M


Eurocom has announced its updated Panther series laptops to support Intel’s Sandy Bridge-E processors. Just as before, The company based its mobile workstation on a Clevo design, the P270WM that has an Intel X79 motherboard as well as desktop LGA 2011 processors support.  It also uses a 17.3-inch panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.

For now, customers have the option of choosing between the Core i7-3930K and the Core i7-3960X CPUs, with the Core i7-3820 to be included next month. The integrated memory controller found inside the Intel chips can access up to four memory channels which can be packed with as much as 32GB of RAM.  As far as storage is concerned, the machine packs no less than four physical drive bays, that can be populated with HDD, SSD of hybrid storage solutions, and supports the RAID 0/1/5/10 operation modes.

For graphics duty, the standard Panther 4.0 comes configured with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 580M GPU, but users also have the option of equipping their notebook with a second GTX 580M for SLI operation or go for the Quadro 5010M professional GPU.

Pricing and availability wasn’t mentioned, but the rest of the Clevo P270WM-based solutions announced so far will start at above $3000.00 (roughly 2,300 EUR).
