First copycat iPad spotted
We’ve seen a lot of iPad knock-offs and wannabes but nary a glimpse of an actual clone of the device. Sure, no manufacturer is courageous enough to put out something that too closely resembles that tablet with Apple’s lawyers on the prowl. Not unless they come from the world’s gadget-copying capital, Shenzhen, China.
True to its nature, the iPad has been cloned and joins the hallowed halls of clone gadgets such as the Atom-powered MacBook Air. It has a larger 10″ screen, Android OS and 600MHz ARM CPU. The device is also a tad thicker than the original. Nothing much else to add besides some snapshots of the device, courtesy of Shanzai.com.
Oh, it will be available in the vicinity of US$150, that is if you can reach out to some friends in the east.
