Fujitsu’s Palm Secure technology to become available on tablets and other mobile devices near you

With more and more tablets coming out of the woodwork lately, it’s only fitting that they start adding security measures to these devices as soon as possible. Even plain-old casual tablet users will have some form of sensitive data installed and stored on their devices, so it’s important to have a form of security available to help keep all of this data safe. The Japan-based Fujitsu may already have a solution on its hands in the form of its Palm Secure module which is reportedly going to make its way to one or more tablets and other mobile devices in the future.

The sensor on Fujitsu’s Palm Secure module measures a mere 5mm thick, so it should go just fine with most tablets available in the market nowadays. They may need to reduce that thickness just a little bit more in order to make it fit inside the likes of the Toshiba Excite 10 LE tablet, but otherwise, it should be the perfect for other tablet models. There’s no word on when tablet manufacturers are going to include this good bit of technology in their future offerings (and how), but this is definitely a case of the sooner, the better.
