Gateway EC18T Convertible Tablet Hits the FCC

Remember Gateway’s convertible tablet PC which we told you about not so long ago? Well, after the leaked photos of said tablet PC, nothing much has been heard about it since then. But thanks to the open-to-the-public FCC documents we now know that the Gateway EC18T Tablet PC may soon grace the shelves of U.S. stores.

But wait, based on the photos that were submitted to the FCC, it looks like the Gateway EC18T is after all a rebranded Acer Aspire Timeline 1420p. What gives?

In fact, it seems that Gateway is not the only one who is rebranding the Acer Timeline 1420p, because the FCC document also mentioned about Packard Bell.

Anyway, here are the specs of the Gateway EC18T/Acer Aspire Timeline 1420p:

  • Processor: 1.2GHz SU2300 dual-core
  • RAM: 4GB, up to 8
  • HD: 250, 320, 500GB
  • Display: Intel GMA 4500MHD
  • Screen Size: 11.6″
  • Battery Life: 8 hrs
  • Ports: HDMI, vga, 3xUSB, head/mic

Hopefully the rebranding would also bring a decrease in price, although we’re not really counting on it. It might on the other hand have a higher price than the Acer Aspire Timeline 1420p instead.
