Gateway’s Intel-packing LT4004U netbook unleashed

Gateway LT4004uLast time we heard from the US based computer manufacturer, Gateway was about its 11.6-inch LT3100 – which got dumped in a pile of other eMachines netbook announces, including the Timeline. We now have another big shocker here, Gateway’s new LT4004U. The self-proclaimed netbook comes powered by a processor from Intel Atom Cedar Trail – and you know how the company has largely avoided netbooks while in the end looking to single out with the “ultra-portable” Athlon Neo CPU.

Cedar Trail 1.6 GHz N2600 processor is what’s running the show here, as well as integrated Intel GMA 3600 integrated graphics card, WXGA resolution, Memory of up to 1GB and 250GB HDD, card reader, webcam, three USB 2.0 port, 802.11b/g, and a 6-cell Li-ion battery pack installed. Looks like they are back after shielding away from Atom, then, instead Windows Vista Basic we got Windows 7 starter for the OS. Available in Black-white stripped (zebra-like), it’s already retailing (asking $280).
