Cheesy name but hey, it’s a great marketing strategy for its target buyers! After all, the rugged outdoorsman doesn’t need fancy iPads or Toughbooks. What does he need? He needs to be Verykool (couldn’t help it, apologies).
The R800 Outdoor tablet has a very tough, water-resistance outer case and a comfortable 7-inch touchscreen display (capacitive) with 800 x 480 px. It also can take shots from the rear with a 2MP camera and from the front with a regular VGA.
It also comes with the usual wireless trimmings like Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G. And the 3500 mAh battery shouldn’t leave you hanging given the specs. Finally a microSD slot lets you beef up the storage up to 16GB.
As you might have noticed, the specs aren’t stellar but when you are out on the icy peaks of the Himalayas or the isolation of an ocean exploration vessel, the last thing on your mind is playing Angry Birds. This tablet apparently lets you live your life in the real world without worrying about losing touch.
