Get Your Nook Tablets Early

Although the official release of the Nook tablet by Barnes & Noble is on November 18, some stores already have the new $249 slate in stock. If you happen to be one of those who pre-ordered, it’s quite possible that you could walk in to your favorite local B&N and pick up the tablet right now. It isn’t clear however what or how many actual stores have the Nook already on hand. You’ll just have to call to make sure.
In case you haven’t heard of the Nook, it’s an Android-based media entertainment tablet computer that’s not surprisingly slightly more focused on electronic books. Some of its notable hardware features are:
- TI OMAP4 dual core processor
- 7-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution
- 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage
- Built-in mic and microSD slot
It seems that some retailers are beginning to form a habit of pushing their products out to the public ahead of schedule. Take note that Amazon was supposed to ship out the Kindle on November 16 but moved the date two days before the official schedule. No matter the reason, it still ultimately benefits tablet users.
