inboxwithlabels

If you’re a netbook user (which I hope you are because you are reading the Eee PC Blog), chances are you also have Gmail for your web mail platform of choice. So you’d probabably notice that due to the small screen real estate of our beloved netbooks, part of the subject line of Gmail messages are partly hidden when you are browsing your Gmail Inbox.

This rather obscure way of presenting Gmail messages hinders productivity and consumes some of your valuable time since you can’t quickly see whether a message is important or not based on it subject.

Well, Gmail hearts us netbook users so much that a new feature in Gmail Labs (for those not in the loop, that’s where Gmail test out its new features before going public) now allows netbook users to hide labels on messages in the inbox, giving more area for Gmail to display the subject line of email on Gmail Inbox.

To turn this feature on, just activate the Gmail Lab feature called “remove  labels from subjects.”  You’ll see this feature if you click on the Labs Tabs Under the Settings option of your Gmail Inbox.
