Google Chrome OS getting professional, business version coming next year

Google’s Chrome OS is due later this year and the search engine company has high hopes for their new operating system that they’ve announced a business version will come out on 2011. Not much has been revealed on what’s different between this and the consumer versions, though a Google engineer did reveal that it will carry “more management muscle”. Will this mean that you’ll be able to install Linux versions of enterprise apps? We’ll see.

In related news, Chrome OS netbooks will be featuring a “dev switch” for increased security. Developers can use this to enable additional functions so that they can tinker with the underlying code.
