Google Names Chrome OS Partners

Wow! Everybody seems to be pretty hyped about the Google Chrome OS which was announced yesterday.  Even a simple announcement from the Official Google Chrome blog stating the names of the PC manufacturers whom Google is working with, is getting quite a number of online coverage.

I’m talking about a post on the Google Chrome Blog answering three simple questions. The first one, whether Google Chrome is free was already answered in yesterday’s announcement. It is open-source so naturally it will be free.

The second question  is the reason for the buzz because Google has named the companies it is currently working with to bring Google Chrome OS on their machines. And guess what? All the big names in the netbook market were included – Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba.

The last question answered was not relevant. And I’m thinking it was just added to make the post longer.

So, there we joined the ranks of the tech blogs/sites which is all hyped about Google Chrome OS.  Next time Google, please give us more information.

i tried Chrome OS and it is pretty much like a scaled down version of Ubuntu. Chrome is just based on Linux and there is not much innovation in it.
