Hivision PWS700CA Android-powered laptop gets reviewed

The Hivision PWS700CA is one of the best Android-powered devices that you’ve never heard of. For some reason, it’s being called a laptop by some people, but with its 7-inch 800×480 screen 720p screen I think it’s closer to being a netbook than its full-sized counterparts. Instead of using Intel’s new Atom processors, it utilizes a Rockchip RK2808 600mhz ARM926 processor, which appears to be adequate in powering it and its operating system: Android. The best part about this is that the Hivision PWS700CA may be sold for as low as $100 as ARMdevices.net speculates. That would surely bring down the price of a lot of other competing products, provided that the Hivision PWS700CA maintains its level of usability and ease of use shown in the video right after the break.

    I have heard a lot about the new Android operatin system and it seems that lots of people are starting to give votes for it. Taking in consideration the price of teh gadget, Android could become the next thing that people will prefer for such small prtable devices.

    Very interesting article! I must say I'm amazed of this fine piece of equipment and maybe in the future I'll buy one for myself. A good way for making the money would be to sell the used test equipment I have left and forgotten at home, I'm sure I'll make up the cheap price they have on it.

    I would still take a netbook or a tablet PC over these new smartbook types. Unless smartbooks are significantly cheaper, I don't see them beating the netbooks which can run proper windows 7 and have excellent battery life and full program functionality. Forget apps when you have programs…millions of them swype keys look cooL…Swype rules! just installed the beta on my HTC 4G and it owns! one thing though is that you can only use one finger for it to work like intended.

    These smaller devices are definitely great for mobility but as far as performance I think they are a bit limited.
