It's HP day for us here on the Eee PC Blog.   Following our report that Orange UK is offering the HP Mini 700 as a mobile broadband bundle, here comes ZDNet UK reporting that  an HP Spokesperson told them the HP will not be releasing a Linux version of the HP Mini 1000 in the UK.

UK netbook fans who are waiting for the arrival of the HP Mini 1000 in their local PC stores will have to contend themselves with a Windows XP-powered Mini 1000 netbooks. And making their choices of this HP netbook even slimmer, only the Vivienne Tam Edition has been released to the UK market. That Mini 1000 version comes with Windows XP and currently sells for £450.

When asked for the reason behind the said decision, the HP Spokesperson said that they have carefully studied the EMEA PC market and deemed it more appropriate to release just the HP Compaq Mini 700 and Mini 1000 VT Edition.
