My HP mini 2133 just died this morning. The screen went black and I could not reboot it no matter what, only the blue light on start button is on - everything else, silence. I am just outside of my 12 moths warranty...Second time this has happened, first was my HP Compaq, then this mini notebook.

I AM NOT BUYING ANOTHER HP...EVER!!!!

HP mini 1000. I've had it for 3-4 months and I opened it today and get nothing but a black screen. It doesn't even sound like it's running. All the lights are on but non ones home. Let's see what best buy has to say.

hi guys this is like dejavu. its exactly what happened to mine but i don't remember leaving it in heat but i do use it alot. when it happened the 1st time i immediately got a new one from the store. but when it happened to the new one then they sent it in for repairs cos it had been 3 months since i got it. now the screens dead but the blue light still comes on like u said and this is the 2nd one . think it sucks that its so fragile i mean a lap top should be able to take a beat or some heat lol. anyway i hear there r some new ones now that come in black n red maybe they have fixed the problem... but were does that leave us...

Robert - this happened to me. Black screen comes with overheat and 2133 dies with a "pop" noise. - And its dead-dead-dead but for the blue power light. Overheat can come from just working the computer while charging the battery. Sent it off to HP - they replaced main board. But it just "popped" again. No black screen this time, but i take this as a warning. I can iron my shirt with this computer.

I am one of those sorry guys, of which this so happened too. I have a bad trake record with computers they always break on me. So I bought this one it hopes that an HP would at least last a little while. But however it did not. It last about 3 months. then went out. However I do think there are some tell signs of when it is going to happen and I beleave I know why. f the computer is acting slower than normal out of the blue and you have not installed anything keep an eye on it. I think that one of the reasons why it fails like so is the poor cool that the laptop has. The case is made out of a thin metal and all the componets do nothing but put out heat. There are only two vents for which the computer pulls in cool air and they are on the bottom of the computer. If you own one you should know as I do that you tend to place it on your lap not noticing that the computer is over heating or many of you like I did found out the hard way and forgot to turn it off when it was placed into my hardcase when I was in a hurry and when I went to pull it out. The computer was so HOT that I could not touch it with my bare hands. When I opened it the computer shut down. (all on its own) after learnig that I was very causous to keep it cool and clean. I place it on four little peices of wood when sitting on a desk to keep the underside cool. That worked for a while. So I became complasent. However there is not deffent signs for when this will happen it just happen after returning from work and never turned back on. The power light is lit but thats it. Well I am going to send my back to HP and they can fix that shit. I hope this helps someone.
