It didn’t take HP that long to officially releases its new netbook – the HP Mini 1000. Available starting today at HP’s online store for $399 (I couldn’t find the product page though), the HP Mini 1000 sports a piano black finish with HP Imprint swirl design. It comes with a pre-installed Windows XP Home OS, packs with Ethernet jack and two USB ports, has WiFi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity features plus a 3G connectivity coming soon.
Of course, the HP Mini 1000 runs on Intel Atom’s CPU at 1.6GHz clock speed which is today’s standard CPU for netbooks. It will have a Brightview widescreen Infinity display at 1024×600 resolution. Interestingly, HP is giving users the option to choose the size of the HP Mini, which either an 8.9-inch or 10-inch display. This netbook also features flush glass and LED backlight, a built-in webcam and microphone.
For storage, HP is packing in either a choice of 2GB, 4GB or 8GB of hd storage. The initial comes with a 4-cell battery but HP promises to deliver a 6-cell lithium-polymer battery sometime in January though.
And finally, HP is also offering a free six-month subscription to HP Upline for every unit purchased. This is HP’s answer to the Eee Storage.
