HTC Brings Vertex HD Android 4.0 Tablet

HTC is teasing the public with a new tablet called the Vertex HD which comes with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor running at 1.3 GHz. This device will be a follow-up gadget to the HTC Flyer tablet and the HTC Jetstream tablet.

The HTC Vertex HD had been spotted at benchmark tests, Nenamark and Antutu. In those tests, the device appeared with the name htc_generic. It was shown to have Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich as its operating system. This is one of the latest versions of Ice Cream Sandwich prior to the new Jelly Bean update. For its display, the Vertex HD has a 10.1-inch HD WXGA screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800p.

On its rear it sports a 2 megapixel camera, while a 1.3 megapixel camera is found on its front. The benchmark tests also reveal Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity as well as Beats Audio.

That said, these specifications might be tentative, even if they showed up on the benchmark tests. HTC for its part has not given official information regarding the tablet, such as its price or target launch date.

Given HTC’s less-than-impressive performance with tablets in the past and the financial uncertainty it is facing, the upcoming Vertex HD tablet might just help boost the company’s revenues this year with its decent specifications.
