Huawei Android 4.0 Update for MediaPad Now Available
Huawei is bringing out an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for its MediaPad tablet. The update, which will replace the Android 3.2 Honeycomb Operating System that the device originally shipped with, may be obtained through the Huawei official website’s Downloads section.
The Ice Cream Sandwich update available offers a more or less the generic Android 4.0 enhancements. Among these are the improved UI with new virtual buttons, a gallery app, camera app, people app, lock screen actions, resizable widgets, improved text and voice input, home screen folders, unified calendar and voicemail, Android Beam for NFC and swipe to dismiss function.
It also comes with better camera capabilities, Live effects for video, a photo editor, and enhancements with browsing and email. Performance enhancements are also available with the new OS. This OS handles multitasking well and is said to be easier to use than Android 3.2 because of the many enhancements.
The MediaPad offers a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core CPU, a full gigabyte of RAM, and 8 GB of internal storage. It also comes with a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Dual cameras are also onboard, along with several connectivity options including Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.
