Indamixx 2 Tablet Looking Cool, Sounds Expensive

Well, here’s something that looks pretty cool. Indamixx has shown off initial pics of its upcoming Indamixx 2 slate. The prototype boasts an Intel single-core 1.66GHz Atom N450 – with plans to upgrade to a dual-core chip for the final version, 2 gigs of RAM, three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA output, Ethernet socket and analog audio I/O jacks. No word on screen size yet, though.

Indamixx’s biggest draw though is the OS. Eschewing the popular use of Android, the slate will be using Transmission 5.0, a MeeGo-based music OS. Not surprising considering the company’s focus on audio products. Indamixx hopes that the Meego’s propensity for multi-touch input will help greatly in creating a more efficient product.

The  big problem with the Indamixx 2 is the price tag: $999 is not a price point you want to have in the competitive market. No word on a release date yet, so that price could still change.
