Not to be outed in their own backyard,  Intel’s giving their own education-oriented netbook line the Pine Trail treatment with the upgraded Classmate PC. M&A Technology’s retail site has a posting of this new netbook, listed as Companion PC 10. In it is a Atom N450 processor (posted at the site as having 1.6GHz), 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 10.1″ 1024×600 screen, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, LAN, 1.3MP webcam, card reader, 3 USB ports and VGA out. The battery now has 6-cells in it (4400mAh) and a bigger keyboard and touchpad. It’s going to be a bit bulkier at 1.6kg

The posted price is $449 with Windows XP as its OS.
