Intel Classmate PC aka Neo eXplore X1?

When I reported about one Asus Eee competitor which is currently available in some Philippine computer stores, I wasn’t aware that it was actually the Intel Classmate PC that was officially announced a couple of days ago. Engadget has a post about it through a reader who even submitted an actual picture of the Intel Classmate PC aka “Neo eXplore X1“.

Anyway, the Neo eXplore Xi aka Intel Classmate PC looks like a blue version of the OLPC. It’s bulky and looks more like a toy. I doubt if its going to make waves in the European market. I didn’t even bother to take a closer look at it when a sales person pointed it to me while I was buying my Asus Eee PC. She even told me that the Newo eXplore X1 is not as good as the Asus Eee PC.

Will check the Neo eXplore X1 again, the next time I visit the nearest computer stores and see if it really doesn’t match up with the Asus Eee PC, by looks alone.

Well I think you won’t really get that much on a cheaper notebook computer. Neo is the cheapest computer and I think the quality is not really that good. I have friends who are currently using it and they even asked me to fix some of their problems with it. And you won’t get that much support for its drivers.
