Introducing the Latest Member of the Asus Eee Family – the EeeMedia EM0501

It seems that Asus is ready to pull some surprises during the CeBIT gig in Germany. We’ve already covered some of the new members of the Eee PC family but look what else is in store for all us in this event – introducing the EeeMedia EM0501.

We surely never saw this one coming, eh? Anyway, the EeeMedia EM0501 looks almost the same as the EeeBox. However this one has a technical-based S5PV210 800 Mhz Samsung ARM processor, a 512 MB of RAM, Ethernet, 2.5-inch drive slot and remote control. It doesn’t  have Wi-Fi connectivity.

The EeeMedia seems like the Apple TV or Western Digital TV. It can handle 1080p HD video and supports various formats including MPEG1/4, H.264, WMV, VC-1, DivX, Xvid, VOB and MKV. It also supports images and audio files.
