iPad Mini won’t have Retina Display

We heard a couple of new rumors yesterday surrounding the iPad Mini. Firstly reports suggest a $299 price tag with an October release. Rumors also pointed to the iPad Mini featuring a 7.85 inch Retina Display. With a new day however, comes a new rumor. Today we are hearing that the iPad Mini won’t feature a Retina Display. “Two people with knowledge of [Apple's] plans” have confirmed that the iPad Mini will feature a display measuring between 7 and 8 inches. The reports don’t say what the pixel density will be of the iPad Mini or the resolution though, only that it won’t match the iPad 3′s PPI of 264. In comparison the iPhone 4 and 4S have a 326PPI.

While it’s a shame to see that the iPad Mini won’t feature a high resolution and ppi, it does mean that Apple can keep the costs down and keep in line with the sub-$300 pricing we’ve heard about.
