iPad Tablets to Run on Apple iOS 6?
The new iPad could be running Apple iOS 6, sporting a newer WebKit browser, and a pixel display resolution of 2048 x 1536.
This comes from folks at ArsTechnica, who claim to have gotten page views from iPad tablets with these pieces of information. They have no idea on whether these views are from the new iPad 3, which is only set to be launched on March 7th.
Also, there is no telling whether these are from separate devices. However, the specs seem to be consistent with various rumors regarding the iPad 3 floating around the web. In addition to this, not many devices have a 2048 x 1536p resolution.
Earlier, it was rumored that the iPad 3 would be having iOS 5.1 as its operating system, however, it is also likely that the new iOS 6 is already on the preview device. The iOS 5.1 supposedly includes Japanese language support for the digital voice assistant called Siri, which is also found on the iPhone 4S. There will also be a new lock screen that will facilitate access to the camera.
Meanwhile, the high resolution could point to the rumored new retina display for the iPad. This doubles the vertical and horizontal pixel counts of the iPad 2, making images much sharper.
With the iPad 3 is set to be unveiled on March 7th, consumers only need to wait a while longer to finally see the specifications of the device.
