Yep, just the kernel file. The 10.6.2 update has many new files, including the kernel. Apparently, only the mach_kernel file needs to be replaced. I read this on the MyDellMini.com forums, so it may not be the case with the Eee.

From a newbie: When you say, “replace the 10.6.2 kernel with the 10.6.1 kernel” are you just talking about copying the /mach_kernel file from a 10.6.1 system, or are there other files? Isn’t that what 10.6.2 “is” though?

Or just wait? In any case, it has been confirmed that replacing the 10.6.2 kernel with the 10.6.1 kernel will get your Hackintosh running again.

I’m personally not particularly bothered by this. It is not Apple’s responsibility to make sure that non Apple hardware works with their OS.

And by the way, I already have a MacBook. I don’t need another. The Hackintosh is much more portable.
