If you’re both a netbook and social networking user, you’d definitely want to have most of your social networking icons readily available as part of your netbook’s OS. That may not be too long now as the Jolicloud social networking enhanced netbook OS is currently in the works.

While the Jolicloud OS is still in private alpha mode, you can already have a taste of how this netbook OS behaves by visiting the Jolicloud official site.

As a brief background, the Jolicloud OS is actually a customized vesion of the Ubuntu Linux with special emphasis on various social networking apps such as Twitter, Facebook, Google Reader, Netvibes and more. You can install this app alongside the usual netbook desktop applications such as Skype and others.

Jolicloud is also a fast booting OS. It was geared specifically for Internet browsing, hence 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth settings are readily available.
