While the majority of anti virus and internet security programs will run just fine on your netbook, Kaspersky have released their Internet Security program in a Ultra Portables Edition. The Ultra Portables edition supports netbooks which are running Intel Celeron, VIA C7-M and Intel Atom processors. The software has been optimized for use on netbooks and won’t work on machines using other processors. The software has been tested on MSI Wind netbooks, the Acer Aspire One, Samsung NC10 and newer Asus Eee PC netbooks.

The software costs £40, which is the same price as the non netbook version. A 30 day trial of the program is available.

  3. Hi

I just bought a new eee pc 1005ha and the shop put some software for free (Win Office 2003, skype and Kaspersky antivirus).
At home the eee pc wouldn’t let me load any websites. It took me 5 days to figure out the problem. The Antivirus blocked them form loading. I uninstalled Kaspersky and everything started working just fine.

Now, I’m definitely not a computer literate…I’m just telling my experience. I’m sure Kaspersky is an excellent AV, but in my case it gave me 5 days of headache.

  4. Mezcal – Kaspersky is an excellent solution against viruses. Anyway is a resources consumer and you must have a powerful computer for this antivirus.

  5. Kaspersky is the best Anti-Virus program i have ever used. it is way better than Mc Affe and Norton Antivirus.

  7. I have just bought Kaspersky Internet Security for Netbooks with free USB stick and was advised by retailer that it would be fine for downloading onto my PC – has anyone had trouble with this -I did have to download this onto a CD and install this way because I only have 1 USB – I have Windows XP so couldnt see why I am unable to download?

  8. i have used Kaspersky and it is a good anti-virus, my only complain about Kaspersky is that it uses more memory compared to other anti-virus like Avast.
