Kindle Fire sold out, Amazon Kindle Fire 2 release imminent?

We’ve already heard various rumors this year that Amazon are prepping a Kindle Fire 2, as well as a couple of other tablets. While nothing has been officially been confirmed yet, Jeff Bezos the Founder and CEO of Amazon.com has announced that the Kindle Fire is now “sold out”. From the sounds of it, it doesn’t appear to be a temporary thing either. Bezos also goes on to say that they have an exciting road map ahead and “will continue to offer customers the best hardware”. While slightly cryptic, he could indeed be referring to the Amazon Kindle 2 and we’ve already seen from the rumors that the future of Amazon tablets is interesting and definitely exciting. The Kindle Fire 2 should also follow the same pricing model as the original as Bezos also references continuing to give customers not only the best hardware but, also the best prices.

The original Kindle Fire proved to be a huge hit mostly based on it’s low price and if Amazon want to contend with the Google Nexus, a 7″ tablet that has encroached on their sub $200 7″ kindle turf, they will need to release the Kindle Fire 2 for $200 or less.
