Kouziro Intros Frontier FRNP515 / D 15.6″ Notebook PC

Kouziro has introduced a new notebook creatively called the Kouziro Frontier, which is otherwise known as the FRNP515 / D. The device packs a third-gen 2.5 Ghz Intel Core Ivy Bridge i5-3210M processor with two cores and four threads, running alongside the Mobile Intel HM75 Express Chipset. Also onboard is half a terabyte of storage, 4 GB of DDR3 RAM which is still expandable, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 Operating System.

Aimed at the Japanese market, the notebook has a screen spanning 15.6 inches wide display that has LED backlighting as well as a resolution of 1366 x 768. There are three USB 2.0 ports, one of which may be used for charging. An HDMI port is available as well for connecting the device to an HDTV or a larger high definition monitor. Connectivity through LAN is supported, moreover, along with Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b / g / n. Lastly, an optical drive allows for DVDs and CDs to be read on the device.

The notebook, however, is a bit heavy at 2.6 kilos, a factor that might dissuade buyers who could prefer the portability of lightweight ultrabooks. Its dimensions, meanwhile are 380 mm width x 27.1 mm to 34.0 mm height x 262 mm depth. Mostly, the heft is due to the battery pack that promises 6 hours of use.

The Kouziro Frontier is available in Japan for 49,800 Yen or around US$628.
