Hold your breaths folks, this could probably be the cheapest netbook we’ve seen to date. We’re talking about the Lanyu  eBook LY-EB01 eBook/netbook which was spotted somewhere in the streets of China. This netbook currently carries the price tag of around $98! Nope, there is certainly no broadband bundles nor any 2-year service agreements for our Chinese friends to get this netbook. All they need is to part ways with 666 Yuan and they could bring home the said eBook/Netbook.

If you are curious to know, the eBook LY-EB01 features a 7-inch 800×480 TFT LCD, a 266MHz AK7802Q216 ARM processor, WinCE 5.0, Wi-Fi, 128MB RAM and a 1800mAH Li-Ion battery.

It is however still unknown whether Lanyu will make this netbook available in the international market.
