Lenovo mulling a 10″ version of the X100e?
I’ve praised the latest line of Lenovo netbooks a lot, including the X100e which is their business netbook. It gets high marks for the excellent keyboard, the integrated track button and the robust build. The 5 hour battery life is a bit disappointing. Even though it is a markedly great improvement over the previous 3-4 hour battery life of previous models, newer ones get up to 8 hours and even 11 hours on one charge.
Lenovo seems to have thought so too and is planning to release a 10.1″ model with the Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail processor in tow, if this support page is to be believed. The smaller screen would mean it will be more portable and if it’s going to be a ThinkPad, the trademark tiny bezel will mean a much more compact netbook overall. I hope they can push the battery life to at least 8 hours with this new setup, something business travelers would welcome very much.
