With features similar to the original Ideapad S10, the S10e offers Internet connectivity features to enable students to do online research, sharing and collaboration tools, and email, social networking and other web applications. It also features basic functionality for word processing and light multimedia presentation functionality.
The Lenovo S10e would also come with a web, a 10.1-inch display, quick start feature for instant access to email, Internet browsing, video conferencing, photo viewing, or listening to music. In addition, the S10e will have several choices for its OS – Windows XP Home or SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop from Novell.
The netbook will also feature either a 4GB SSD or 160GB HDD. Naturally, it is powered by the Intel Atom processor.
Other features of the Ideapad S10e include; Ethernet, WiFi, optional Bluetooth, and ExpressCard 34 slot
Lenovo offers a variety of customization options including hardware technologies, educational software and flexible warranties to fit the individual needs of schools. Choices of operating systems include Microsoft Windows XP Home or SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop from Novell. Designed to handle the rigors of student computing, the netbook comes equipped with a 4 GB solid state drive for reliability or a hard disk drive up to 160 GB.
