Like A Tablet With A Stand: Habey’s Panel PC

Well, here’s an interesting new product. Habey has produced a unique item: a panel PC. We know tablets are great for their portability, but not exactly for their power. However, the Panel PC sacrifices the portability to throw in a few more add-ons to the tablet.

It’s technically a desktop computer. Powered by a 1.8 GHz Intel Atom D525 dual core processor and backed by NVIDIA ION 2 graphics, it can work as a simple terminal or kiosk – mostly because it’s got no keyboard. Yes, the entire thing is operated by its 12-inch touchscreen and everything is packed into its tiny frame.

This includes VGA and HDMI ports, 4 USB ports, and several other ports including S/PDIF optical output and an eSATA port. A 1.3MP camera is also positioned above the monitor. It also has two 2.5 inch hard drive bays and 2 DDR3 memory slots with support for up to 4GB of RAM.

All of it for $800 – which is a bit expensive but well, this is a unique product after all.
