MacBook Air Clone Sports TV Tuner, Fancy Umbrella Logo

I reported about the Black MacBook Air clone I spotted a while back. It seems shanzhai manufacturer DianJiTek does mine better by showing off red, black, silver and even bronze clones of their own. The specs are nothing to call home about: 11.6″ 1366 x 768 screen, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB HDD, 3200mAh battery, Ethernet, and WiFi. The device itself is 2.5 cm thin, a bit more than Apple’s 1.94 cm for the Air.

It does sport a built-in antenna and hardware for Chinese CMMB broadcasting, probably something that can be modded to work in your own broadcasts in your part of the world. Like the previous shanzhai netbook we featured, it seeks to be different from the netbook horde by having its own brand – an umbrella logo similar to ones used by antivirus and backup software companies. Just like how shanzhai devices seek to copy and make other designs and ideas their own, shanzhai companies are also taking what’s effective in selling products like branding and premium design and incorporating it in their own products. The price for this netbook is about 360 USD with discounts for bulk orders.
