Manli, a European electronics maker, introduces yet another CULV notebook into the fray called the Manli M7. The marketing pitch is that it's a "multimedia netbook". Some may argue that it's an ultralight and not a netbook. Let's see the specs.

Mani M7

  • 12.1" 1366 x 768 LED-backlit display
  • 1.3GHz Intel SU4100 CULV with GS45 chipset
  • Intel GMA X4500
  • 2GB DDR3 RAM
  • 320GB HDD
  • Windows 7 Starter or XP
  • 802.11b/g/n WiFi
  • Intel HD Audio, 2W speakers
  • HDMI out
  • 6-cell battery (6 hour battery life)
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR (optional)
  • 3G HSDPA (optional)
  • DVB-T tuner (for TV and radio, optional)
  • 1.48kg

It looks good from the above specs, with the LED-backlight for the LCD and optional TV + radio tuner. The 6-hour battery life is also nice, but I think that's for normal use and not when viewing video and multimedia. It'll come in a bunch of colors like lime green and pink, just like the 4GB Eee PC way back when.

If they price this right, it would be a very good buy. No price though a Febrary release was mentioned.

  1. say about $299. most of us are going to “cloud” computing or virtual machines anyway. a 6 hour battery; just follow the yellow brick road to the man behind the curtain. i believe this when i see it. besides I want it in Ferrari f5 RED w/ racing stripes
