Posted in: 9inch, Intel, tags: m&a companion touch
We really leave it up to you folks to determine whether the M&A Companion Touch Convertible PC is the 2Go Convertible Classmate PC that we reported not so long and which was launched by CTL Corp. during the CES. Back then the expected price of the 2Go Convertible Classmate PC was supposed to be around $549. But M&A is selling their Companion Touch for only $499.99. We checked CTL's site and the price of its 2Go Convertible PC is now at $499.
Specs-wise, the Companion Touch sports the same specs of the 2Go Convertible Classmate PC that we reported to you. These includes:
- 1.6GHz Intel Atom 270 processor
- 1GB RAM
- shock-moutned 60GB HD
- 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi
- 6-cell battery
- 8.9 LCD screen (1024×600) with accelerometer
- supports stylus for touchscreen navigation
- resistive touchscreen technology

Actually, CTL and M&A are just two different companies selling machines based on the Intel Classmate PC 3 reference design. Neither company is rebranding the other’s product. They’re both just putting their names on the Intel design.
Brad is correct. The M&A Companion Touch is based on the Intel Classmate Convertible design. M&A Technology targets the educational market with this revolutionary device. M&A first launched the device on January 9th at CES with Intel. The 2GO PC is also based on the Intel design. The two devices are similar but neither one is a rebranded version of the other.
