Microsoft confirm Surface tablet release date

When Microsoft announced their Windows 8 tablet, the Surface they stated that the tablet would be released at the same time as Windows 8. Fast forward a few weeks and Microsoft announced the release date for Windows 8 to be October 26th. However during those announcements, the Surface tablet was not mentioned and so only assumptions were made that the Surface would be released then as well. We can now confirm that Microsoft have officially announced that the Surface tablet will indeed be arriving October 26th.

The Windows RT model known simply as Surface will be released then, while the Intel Core powered tablet that will run Windows 8 Pro and is known as the Surface Pro will be released three months later. Although Microsoft haven’t announced an official date for the Surface Pro release yet.
