Microsoft Courier will be your digital journal

With Apple recently announcing the availability of the iPad for pre-order, Microsoft showed up with a bit of news of its own on its tablet PC. The Microsoft Courier is “digital journal” that is under one inch think, under half a kg in weight and will just be the size of a large index card (or a moleskin notebook, for that matter) when folded up. Pretty neat stuff there.

It’s not going to be a full-blown tablet as expected but the dual-screen device will be built upon the Tegra 2 and will run on some flavor of Windows CE, similar to the Zune HD. The user interface will be touch-based but mainly focused on writing and drawing. In addition to journaling, it will also serve as an eBook platform with Microsoft building an entire reading marketplace around it. It will also have a camera and headphone jack, opening it up for some video blogging and music playback as well.

All this looks very promising and while the iPad is targeting media consumption, the main goal for Microsoft seems to be media creation. If the image above is to be believed, this would provide some very precise handwriting capabilities which even the iPhone doesn’t have yet. A mini tablet that acts like a digital notebook would be a perfect complement to the iPad’s digital book interface.

Expect the Microsoft courier to launch later this year.

I think that this device has incredible functionality.
One of apple’s biggest mistakes was failing to show
people exactly how ipad fits into thier lives. This device
leaves no doubt how you will use it and the pen interface
and the ability to jot notes is what consumers like
myself wanted with ipad. However I still prefer ipad. I am
not a tech expert but most of what courier does I think
ipad is capable of with the right apps. I am admittedly stil
unsure of ipads ability to work with pens but 3rd parties
are already promoting them so u assume ipad will allow some
modified paint app for note taking. I essentially see many ways
for ipad to mimic courier but courier can’t mimic ipad
this platform is no good fir an emagazine like Wired
you can’t type or do even limited data entry. For many people
and low end users ipad is all the computer they need. It’s like a
superportable laptop or desktop with a detachable monitor. It can
be your journal or notebook. You can read books etc. To me this
is a great device but the ipad has a better form.

This looks amazing. So much smarter and useful than Apple IPad (given this information). The trouble with Apple is that its old. They got it right with the iphone, and they just keep re-releasing it in bigger formats – nothing new from them, no innovation. Seriously Apple…so much cost for 5 year old ideas and they lock you into iTunes which is seriously money making for them.. I’ll be getting this one if it can do what the videos on the net are showing. I see they were smart enough to put a camera and mic in it too.

There are hundreds of social bookmarking websites, not all of them get much of traffic, but virtually all of them will however be useful as a backlink to your site. Submitting your pages to all of these websites can take a long time. That’s why buying a automated bookmarking software is important, because this way you can save an average of 3-4 hours a day, or perhaps an average of $200 per month in bookmarking expenses while you bring in the greatest results in terms of traffic and Page Rank increase.
